Dumplin' Review

Saying I love this book is an understatement. When I first came across this book I was intrigued by the cover; Someone I followed on Instagram was reading it and posting about it and soon after I discovered it was at my school library so I checked it out immediately and I am so glad I did.

As a "big girl" I related to this book in so many ways it's unbelievable, and i appreciated it so so much.

Dumplin' by Julie Murphy is phenomenal. Set in modern day Texas, teenage Willowdean Dickinson faces some complications with Boys, Friends, Jobs, and Self Esteem. Even the most confident girls face issues with how they view themselves at some point or another, Like Will and with out too many spoilers, this has sort of a loop with, Self image then relationships with not just boys but close friends as well. Oh did I forget to mention the Miss Clover City Beauty Pageant? Wills mom, was a winner years and years ago and still hasn't forgotten, or let Will forget either.

I enjoyed many parts of this book, the plot was a little frustrating, but still good sometimes, and a few select characters will get on your nerves; All the Aspects of the book are very good and well written. This book is sure to steal your heart as it stole mine, I totally recommend this book (and the sequel Puddin' I hope to get my hands on soon.)
